Seals and Heron! 8/02/2022

I journeyed to Manomet Point near Plymouth, MA to see the juvenile humpback whales that had been feeding just off shore. I saw them briefly in amongst the fishing boats and kayakers that were not being the best stewards. My favorite sight, however, were the Gray Seals that were bobbing in the water and barking and howling. Yes...howling!

I then journeyed over to Jenney Pond in Plymouth to look for Heron since it was around 5 pm and overcast so they were likely active. Not only did I see an adult (getting a drink in this heat!) and two juveniles, but I also saw a Green Heron which is the first time I have seen one at this location. A good day for this nature photographer!
