Great Horned Owls nesting in North Easton again! 4/22/2025

For the second year in a row, the Great Horned Owl nest behind the Ames Free Library has an owlet! Last year there were two owlets that seemed to successfully fledge, but this year there is only one in the nest and it is doing well. I have made some progress with informing the Town of Easton and the Stewardship Committee on the dangers of second generation rodenticides so I am hopeful this little owlet and its parents will continue to do well.
