I am beginning to head more towards the South Coast lately to bird as there is little to no
traffic on 495 and 195. I decided to look for the Ross's Geese again in Marion and then to continue to bird west to Fairhaven. I finally saw the Ross's Geese as well as a White-fronted Goose in a nearby field. Both of these species are Arctic breeders and only occasionally winter here in Massachusetts with the Ross's Geese being the more rare of the two. I was also lucky to see an American Oystercatcher in the same location, an American Wigeon at the Shaw Road puddle, a Belted Kingfisher, and a beautiful coyote spotted in the marsh on the way home. What a wonderful day and...no traffic!
