A Brown Booby was discovered hanging out with the Double-crested Cormorants on a small beach at the Curley Community Center. The bird staked out a pier and appeared to be feeding well in the small bay off of Carson Beach in the harbor. Brown Boobies are usually found in tropical ocean areas and are common in the Caribbean but scarce in the United States away from Puerto Rico. That means almost any Brown Booby you see in the U.S. or Canada is a rarity and this one hung out for a few more days even though it was being harassed by the local birds. This was definitely a life bird!
